Chemistree: The Vertically Integrated Venture The Cannabis Industry So Desperately Needs

Why Chemistree

Chemistree was established in 2018 as a solution to the crowded and cumbersome Canadian cannabis market. After recognizing the huge market potential of the US cannabis industry (experts estimate that the US cannabis market could be worth as much as $50 billion within the next decade), Chemistree chose to focus solely on the Pacific Northwestern markets of California and Washington state with plans to expand into the East Coast markets.

Chemistree’s corporate strategy is to acquire and develop vertically integrated cannabis assets; with strategic acquisitions, they will own and operate licensed cultivation, processing, distribution, and retail facilities. They plan to do this by leveraging their team’s decades of expertise in the cannabis industry and corporate finance.

An Experienced Team

California and Canada were the first two regions to legalize medical cannabis (in 1996, and 2001 respectively). This means that cannabis professionals from these two areas have been able to gain a considerable head start in gaining industry experience, compared to others just entering the industry.

Since the legal cannabis industry is still in its infancy, experienced cannabis cultivators are much more difficult to find than other industry professionals. In a top quality growing operation, a management team of cannabis cultivation veterans with hands-on experience is optimal. While many companies employ personnel of all experience levels, cannabis is a highly competitive industry that moves much too quickly for those learning on the go. Leaders with a diverse skill set and lots of experience have the opportunity to capitalize on their operational experience.

Companies that are able to attract talented cannabis growers are at a clear advantage in navigating the complex cannabis industry. When Chemistree assembled their leadership team, they established that hands-on cannabis experience was essential. In order to reflect this necessity, the role of Chief Cannabis Officer was created. This demanding role requires a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of cannabis business and industry. Chemistree founder Sheldon Aberman was selected for this role due to his extensive experience. Sheldon has been involved in the legal cannabis industry since 2003; he works the cultivation side of the business, and is sought after world-wide as one of the industry’s foremost experts on commercial cultivation. Sheldon has been involved in the design and management of thousands of commercial cannabis grows, and has built several multi-million dollar brands which include Black Label and Frost Box.

One team member with almost two decades of experience wasn’t enough for Chemistree — their chairman Justin Chorbajian has over 20 years of experience in cannabis retail as co-owner of Canada’s largest chain of privately owned hydroponic shops. Justin has made several appearances on this hit podcast Growing Exposed where he speaks about cannabis cultivation.

Chemistree didn’t stop there — they decided to add an advisor to their team. With over 25 years of experience in the cannabis industry, Dennis Hunter is an amazing asset to the Chemistree team. He is highly valuable due to his 3D rendering and computer-assisted design skills. During his lengthy and remarkable career, Dennis has helped to build brands like Care by Design, and Craft Canna. He was also selected as one of the 100 Most Influential Figures in the Cannabis Space in 2019 by High Times Magazine.

Cannabis experience alone was not enough to create the well-rounded team Chemistree desired; Chemistree President Karl Kottemeier has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. During these 25+ years, Karl has raised over $150 million in equity capital.

Partnerships

Since 2018, Chemistree has been busy gathering assets and acquisitions to ensure self-sustainability as a vertically integrated company. This included strategic purchases in Washington State and California — two of the biggest states in the US cannabis market — and New Jersey, a currently untapped market that is positioned to explode upon full medical and recreational legalization.

Sugarleaf Farms, Washington State

In December 2018, Chemistree entered into an agreement with Sugarleaf Farms to acquire global brand marketing rights to the Sugarleaf brand outside of Washington State. Acting as “landlord” for Sugarleaf farms, Chemistree has rescued this struggling small company from the brink of failure and helped them to become profitable (a 239% increase in sales since Chemistree’s investment as a turnkey services provider).

SugarLeaf strains are recognized as some of the most potent in the country. In fact, the strains White 99 and Presidential Kush are High Times Cannabis Cup award winners for “Best US Hybrid”, “Best Medical Hybrid”, and “People’s Choice Cup” categories. Sugarleaf products are already available in over 50 retail stores across Washington State with plans for further expansion to 200+ stores — Chemistree’s established distribution network will make it difficult for new cannabis companies to win shelf space in dispensaries.

Desert Hot Springs California

With experts suggesting that the California cannabis market alone is poised to generate more income than the entire Canadian cannabis market, Chemistree’s team of experts agreed that this state must be a target location for their operations.

In July 2018, after the completion of $4.5 million in financing, Chemistree purchased 9.55 acres of land in Desert Hot Springs, California. As this area is specifically designated as a Cannabis Cultivation Zone, Chemistree plans to operate a multi-phased cannabis cultivation facility in this location.

Phase One of this operation will focus on a 66,000 ft.2 greenhouse cultivation facility, and a 5,000 ft.2 processing facility with targeted annual revenues of USD $14.5 million. Phase Two will focus on filling the Desert Hot Springs facility to capacity. This includes 128,000 ft.2 of cultivation area, 40,000 ft.2 of processing space, and a projected USD $23 million in annual revenues.

The Desert Hot Springs Facility will cultivate, process, and distribute the award-winning Sugarleaf brand to the burgeoning California marketplace, and will also introduce the manufacturing of edibles, oils, concentrates, and tinctures.

Applied Cannabis Sciences, New Jersey

In June 2019, Chemistree completed their investment in Applied Cannabis Sciences Partnership, and filed three applications for medical cannabis licensing in New Jersey. As an early license applicant, they plan to become a first mover in the New Jersey market. This partnership also solidifies their positioning on the East Coast, ensuring coast to coast coverage of the United States markets.

Conclusion

As marketing of cannabis companies, their products, and information about the industry itself is still in its infancy, the experts at Chemistree believe that the cannabis industry offers tremendous opportunity for growth. While there may be several competitors in this space, there are few that are able to offer the decades of experience held by their capable and qualified management team, or the vertically integrated structure of their acquired assets.

Drip 6 - Subject: The Future of the Cannabis Industry

The future of the Cannabis Industry in the United States is looking bright. 62% of Americans support the legalization of marijuana, and 41 out of 50 states have now legalized medicinal, recreational, or CBD-related products.

Also, the SAFE Banking Act (H.R. 595) — a bill that seeks to allow banks and financial institutions to work with businesses in the cannabis space — has passed the House and is on its way to the Senate. With strong bipartisan support in the House, it is hoped that it will get enough votes in the Senate to reach President Trump’s desk by year end.

All of these factors combined lead to a projected market forecast of USD $30+ billion by 2023.

Now is the perfect time to invest, as cannabis stock prices are low, and positioned to explode. With Chemistree currently trading at $0.09 per share, you stand to double your investment with only a $0.09 move upwards.
